EqCetera Inc. is operated by a community-led board of management and is a leading provider of animal-assisted therapies in Western Australia. We actively promote Adaptive Horse Riding and Inclusive Community.
Chairperson – Robert Shaw Rob has over 50 years of experience in working with horses across a range of pursuits, he has used horses in his professional life to enable educational outcomes, and to empower behavioral change in offenders. Rob has coached for a number of West Australian Pony Clubs’ and Adult Rider Groups’ including a 5-year stint as Chief Instructor. Professionally, Rob has held senior positions in the WA not for profit sectors of education, training, health and community services. During the 1990’s Rob took horses into the states Juvenile Detention Centre (Riverbank) and worked with serious repeat offenders, he also set up and ran an Equine Facilitated/Assisted Learning (EFL/EAL) program, linking that program across a number of WA agencies: Department of Education, the Mounted Section of Police Department, Department of Community Services – Juvenile Justice and with Rotary. These programs received multiple state and national awards for innovation in education and in violence prevention. Rob also draws upon his 30 plus years in the Mental Health service delivery in West Australia and the United Kingdom. As an equestrian Rob competed in Eventing and Endurance Riding.
Secretary – Carolyn Meighan Carolyn Meighan is an experienced solicitor specializing in assisting businesses and individuals with legal matters. With expertise in corporate governance, she advises companies and directors on their obligations under the Corporations Act. Carolyn also provides guidance on employment issues and represents clients in property, commercial, and personal disputes. She has a long-standing relationship with the ACTIV Foundation, advising them on employment and asset-related matters. Carolyn is actively involved in various incorporated associations, including the Perth Horse & Pony Club Inc., where she serves as Vice President and provides legal counsel on their responsibilities under the Associations Incorporation Act. In addition to her legal work, Carolyn is a talented horsewoman and riding coach.
Treasurer – Adi Reddi I’m an experienced Chartered Accountant with 14+ years of experience. I aim to improve business practices and drive efficiency across the organization. I excel in a busy corporate environment and am motivated to achieve financial and business efficiencies through effective financial process management. I have the ability to motivate and lead a team to maintain accurate accounting records for precise audit and financial reporting. With strong budgeting, forecasting, and management skills, I can analyze cost reports and meet corporate requirements. I have a positive attitude and thrive in challenging situations. I believe financial improvements are possible in any corporate setting.

Ordinary Member & Head Coach – Rekha Shaw Rekha’s passion for horses grew while volunteering with Emma’s Hippotherapy group. She became a qualified level one and level two horse handler, completed her level one RDA coaching accreditation, and is now pursuing level 2. Rekha acknowledges the valuable work of RDA and Horsepower but aims to bring well-trained horses into the therapy space through EqCetera Inc. to meet the increasing demand.
